Families hit by floods will each be given a RM500 refund to purchase electrical merchandise under the Sustainability Achieved by means of Energy Efficiency (SAVE) program beginning Jan 7.
Energy and regular assets serve Takiyuddin Hassan said this followed the declaration by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday on the arrangement of RM500 vouchers to flood casualties for the acquisition of electrical merchandise at chosen premises or internet business stages.
Talking later the declaration of the Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER) 2022-2035 here today, he said those qualified could make acquisition of electrical merchandise at premises enlisted under SAVE and through online business stages, specifically Lazada, Shopee and PGMall.
“Those impacted by the floods, regardless of in which state, if qualified, will be given a moment refund for each buy.
“For instance, for merchandise worth RM1,000, they just need to pay RM500,” he said.
As of now, he said, there are 1,400 premises recorded under SAVE worked by the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (Seda Malaysia) and the number would be expanded to make it simpler for flood casualties to make buys at premises close to their homes.
As per him, the information up until this point showed that there were around 80,000 qualified families and the number will be refreshed every once in a while.
He said the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) would give confirmation reports to assist casualties with making these buys.
He added that Seda Malaysia, on Jan 7, would declare further subtleties and instruments on the discount.
SAVE is an e-discount program for families who buy electrical products.
Beforehand, SAVE 2.0 offered an e-discount of RM200 to families that bought energy-proficient forced air systems or fridges.
